This Excel file is based on one-year data from the U.S. Census American Community Survey for 2013, first released in September 2014. It shows the number and percentage of households with Internet connections of any kind, and with “fixed broadband” subscriptions (cable modem, DSL, fiber to the home, satellite, etc.), for the 575 U.S. “places” with at least 15,000 households. The data sheets are rank-ordered by percentage of households without these types of service, from highest to lowest, in order to show which communities are “worst connected” in terms of household Internet access.
